TN Academy of General Dentistry
All Day Lecture – “Deconstructing Implant overdentures and Implant and Implant assisted RPDs” presented by Dr. Angi Gullard
Course Description:
Whenever we start with the endgame in mind, we experience predictable outcomes. The key to successful implant therapy is planning for the desired restorative components before placing dental implants. This full-day program will explore topics and protocols related to removable implant-borne restorations. Attendees will learn about the benefits of using a prosthesis blueprint when evaluating a patient for implants in terms of prosthetic tooth position, bone volume, and soft tissue support. Advancements in materials and techniques in implant overdenture and implant-assisted removable partial denture therapy will be discussed. A hands-on session will allow attendees to demonstrate understanding of the implant attachment systems used in restoring the edentulous arch.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this program, the participant will be better able to:
1. Discuss various attachment systems used for implant overdentures and implant-assisted removable partial dentures.
2. Explain the importance of prosthetically driven implant and abutment planning for overdenture therapy.
3. Understand the impact of implant divergence and restorative space requirements for implant dentures.
4. Manage patient expectations throughout and after the treatment process.
5. Obtain predictable results from the dental laboratory.
